Hopkinton Gets Ready for the Best...and the Worst

Preparations are in full gear at Hopkinton for the 2007 Boston Marathon. The weather forecast is calling for a nor'easter to hit this Patriots Day, but for now the town looks great and eveything is on track.

If you want a good vantage point to watch the start, get there early!

The starting line has been freshly painted and the design highlights
the race start time being moved from noon up to 10:00 am.

It's a bit hard to read, but a sidewalk in Hopkinton has
received a plaque naming it, "Johnny Kelley Crossing".
Ah, but which Johnny Kelley? This year's Grand Marshall of the race, or Ol' Kel?

The B.A.A painted special logos on the road to honor
members who recently passed away.

..and last but not least, Dave McGillivray, Boston Marathon Race Director,
gets special mention for his 20th "Late Run." Dave runs the course
after dispatching his race director duties.

Many thanks to Pete Thalmann for his fine photography!
